Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026
In short: AfroKompass Travel is a comparison and referral service. We set no advertising cookies of our own, serve fonts from our own server (not from Google), and only pass on search data when you actively use the travel search.

1. Data controller

The controller for data processing on the AfroKompass Travel pages (afrokompass.de/reisen, /travel, /voyage) is:

Benjamin Akinlalure-Stephen

The Content Architect — AfroKompass

Gollstraße 98, 30559 Hannover, Deutschland

E-Mail: hello@contentarchitect.it.com · WhatsApp: +49 179 4704549

A full legal notice (Impressum) is available at afrokompass.de/#impressum. This is a courtesy translation; in case of doubt the German version applies.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.). When you access the pages, Cloudflare processes technically necessary server log data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser type) to deliver and secure the website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, stable operation), and a data processing agreement is in place. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

3. Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

To improve our service we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly measurement tool. It sets no cookies, performs no fingerprinting and creates no personal user profiles. Only aggregated, anonymous metrics (e.g. page views, country of origin, device type) are collected. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. Fonts (self-hosted)

The fonts used (Inter, Space Grotesk) are served from our own server and are not loaded dynamically from Google Fonts or any other third party. Loading the fonts therefore establishes no connection to Google's servers and transmits no IP address to Google.

Our pages embed the flight, hotel, car-hire and transfer search of our technology partner Travelpayouts. This processing only occurs when you actively use the search:

The legal basis for using the search is the performance of your request and our legitimate interest in a functioning price comparison (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Where cookies are set for tracking purposes on the providers' destination pages, this happens under the responsibility of the respective provider or Travelpayouts, in line with their privacy notices. See the Travelpayouts Privacy Policy.

6. Booking with the provider

You conclude the actual booking directly with the respective provider (airline, hotel or travel agency). As soon as you leave our search and move to the provider's site, that provider's privacy policy applies. AfroKompass Travel receives no payment or passenger data from this booking; at most we learn, in anonymised/aggregated form, that a referral took place.

The "WhatsApp" and "Call" buttons and links to providers only connect to the respective service (e.g. WhatsApp / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) after you click. The privacy terms of that provider then apply.

8. App install (PWA) & local cache

You can add AfroKompass Travel to your home screen as an app (Progressive Web App). A so-called service worker then caches technically necessary files (fonts, icons, the page shell) locally on your device so the app loads faster and can show an offline notice. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can clear the cache at any time via your browser settings.

9. Your rights

Within the statutory limits you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and a right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Contact us informally at hello@contentarchitect.it.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; ours is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony (lfd.niedersachsen.de).
